how early morning blueberry picking turned into 14 flights of wine tasting

We were up and at 'em early to drive out into the countryside to go to a blueberry farm.
I love blueberries and have been wanting to pick blueberries at Jo's Blueberry Farm all summer.
Once there, we found out they were closed for the season.
Say what?
Why isn't this written in bold on their website?!
I was bummed, but recovered quickly once we decided to go to the winery down the road!
Wine Tasting = Happy Kate
$5 for 14 tastings? Um, yeah - sign us up!
After tasting we bought 2 bottles and walked our buzz off around the vineyard...
The grapes were rock solid and Bryan kept throwing them at me. He thought it was funny. Yeah... funny.......... Damn grapes hurt like a mother. I was having flashbacks to my paint balling experience 10+ years ago!
So pretty!
(The grapes, not me. Clearly I hadn't showered or put much make up on as we were supposed to be out in fields)
Our bummer of a morning turned into a really fun day!
After wine tasting we drove the hour back home and stopped at Sherwin Williams to pick up some primer.
Then we headed home to play with Cali... which turned into her and I passed out on the couch for 2 hours.
Bry then cooked us dinner and we hopped in the car to pick up some TCBY.
We capped off our night watching Lincoln Lawyer - such a good movie!
What a great Saturday!

  5. Wine tasting also makes AmericanBridget a very happy gal. We must be kindred spirits! In fact, I am meeting up with a fried this evening for a little convo and vino at my favorite wine bar here in Dallas.

  7. Wish my unshowered hair looks as amazing as yours does!

Blueberry picking turned wine tasting and grape picking/throwing sounds like a perfect backup plan!

  8. The most random, unplanned days always turn out to be some of the nicest don't they? :)

  9. I love that you turned a bummer into such a fun trip! And I'm jealous that you got TCBY. They've closed all of the locations near us and it makes me so sad.
