... and we have a backsplash

So this is what our kitchen looked like when we moved in.

And this is what it looked like 6 days later.

We love the way our backsplash turned out!

we live in a construction zone

We are the only house on our street that is complete.
Loud machinery, hammering, banging, plowing, etc begins at around 7:30am everyday and doesn't end until 7:00pm nightly.
But it's all worth it because man do we love our house!

and then there was 1 - me

Bryan gave little miss Cali lots of love and then disappeared into the airport to catch his flight back up to NYC.
The next morning I was at it again -- off to the airport!
I gave my little Cali the tightest hug/squeeze her little 9lb. body could handle and smothered her with kisses before I handed her off to my dad.
And just like the day before, I said good bye to my dad and watched them disappear into the airport.
And then there was 1 - me.

and since we built our house for cali...

I should probably show you what she's been up to since moving in!
***
Girlfriend had to go to the vet at 2:00pm on moving day -- awesome planning on my part, awesome...
My dad and I took Cali to Birkdale for dinner and some ice cream
She found her way into my suitcase for the 2nd night in a row. Think she's confused much?!Calz likes to play "suicide" with her favorite toy - Mr. Froggy. Small Fry plays with him as close to the edge of the stairs as possible, dangling him every chance she gets... just to let go and watch him plumet down the stairs to his death. Then she races after him and snatches him with her teeth just before he hits the hardwood floors. Then she does it all over again and again.
Love her.
Who doesn't fall asleep when the sun is beating on them in the passengers seat of a car?
I do.
Bryan does.
So does this little one here...
The adorable adventures on my Cali Hanah in her new home will be sure to continue!

what a good morning

Waking up in our new home for the first time was a great feeling!
Coffee and my backyard view made it feel like home...

moving day

Moving day was so past paced that it almost feels like a blur now...
***
The princess waiting paciently in our apartment for the movers to arrive
This little beauty stood out in the mounds of boxes and moving supplies
Smack in the middle of moving my girlfriend, Allyson, popped in to see how things were going. This is how Cali and I moved all day long... my back was so sore from toting her around, but it was better than her running away or getting lost somewhere! My dad flew in from California to help us move... with Irish Whiskey in hand, of course!Exhausted, but so happy, after a long day! There was no way I was about to cook dinner, so we hopped in the car and headed off to the Rudder. A water view, booze and fried pickles -- Just what the doctor ordered...Cheers to a job well done!Little miss was soooo sleepy after a day of no napping, so she snuggled up in the only place that was comforting to her -- my suitcase.
We all felt exactly how Cali looks -- exhausted.
What a beast moving is!
Man, I tell ya... I'm so happy that this isn't our starter house because seriously, I'm not moving again for another 20 years, if ever!

keys

Bryan ran over to our house the day before moving day to check everything out one more time.
Thus far, we have always had to stop by the model home in our community and grab the "generic" key to our house from the sales agent on duty.
When Bryan went to get the key from her this time, she also gave him our keys.
Our official keys!
He came back to our apartment full of excitement... and a little disappointment because we didn't get the keys together, as planned... but mainly full of excitement!
We were so excited to open the doors to our new home together that we ran over to the house really quick.
Upon entering there were flowers everywhere I turned.
Flowers from my hubby!
And a house warming present from our builder -- the bag was filled with all of the moving day essentials: toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels, a Pizza Hut gift card, doggy treats for Cali, Prosecco and 2 champagne flutes !
Amamzing!

angels vs. yankees

Although Bryan despises the Yankees, it has definitely been one ball field that he hoped to get to in his lifetime.
Of course he would have preferred the old stadium, but the new stadium is sufficient.
While in NYC he realized that his beloved Angels were comin' to town!
He got to see his team play at Yankees Stadium.
Lets just say, the guy was in heaven!

Stadium #19 visited of 30.

live like you were dying

Tim McGraw's Emotional Traffic tour came to town along with The Band Perry and Luke Bryan.
Let me tell you, this was the manliest of concerts designed to make girls swoon.
I was one of those girls swooning.
And maybe drooling.
Luke Bryan's hot.
Tim McGraw's so sexy!
Although our tailgate began chillin' in the car waiting for the thunderstorm to pass through, we quickly rebounded and had a blast playing cornhole and drinking out of our red cups.

I had to watch my alcohol/caloric consumption after the 1225 Haagen Dazs calories I took in the night before, LOL!
Tim McGraw opened his concert in the middle of the crowd, right smack in front of us!

Note to self:

Never wear a onesie to a concert.
Not only do you have to get naked in the stall, but as you keep drinking and the humidity raises, it becomes damn near impossible to get it up/down past my hips!

Never wear a belt that you have to safety pin yourself into.
Safety pinning myself into my outfit while drinking deserves a gold star.

Never drink while wearing a onesie and a belt that I have to safety pin myself into.
I learned my lesson the hard way...
