a letter to you

So I had a different post planned for today, but I had to put that on hold to thank you -- from the bottom of my heart -- for all of your uplifting, sweet and ridiculously supportive comments on my gender reveal post. It's moments like this that make me take a step back and realize how truly wonderful it is to be part of this blogging community.

I can't tell you how many times I teared up and even laughed at your comments. I know it sounds silly, but I love that some of you feel like you really know me even though we've never met. I feel that way about you too. And I got so much joy out of reading your reactions to the fact that I'm having a boy.

I really thought that my blog followers would drop dramatically once I announced I was pregnant. You know, like "Ooooh, she's going to turn into a mommy blog... Just what I don't want to read." But much to my surprise, my followers and daily readership has increased since my announcement!

For those of you wondering, my plan is for my blog to always primarily be about Bryan and I... but mostly about me, specifically, as it is now. I do not want my child's face plastered all over the internet consistently. Will he make appearances on the blog? Of course. And often. But not every post. My blog will not necessarily be about my son... it will be about me navigating through life, just as it always has been... and yes, parenthood will be part of that.

Lastly...

For now I'm focusing on all things boy. Any advice, recommendations, things you wish someone would have told you about parenting or raising a son, please share with me. Even though I don't know you... whether you have a son or a daughter, a neice or a nephew... I value your opinion.

Thank you again for making me want to blog... for making me want to share, and most importantly document, my life story. I appreciate all of you more now, than ever.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Now that I have an updated blog design I have included a page at the top of my blog titled "Ask." This should direct you to my formspring, so any questions you have for me ask away...

  5. Well you know how stoked I am for you!!! I totally feel like we have been friends for a while and I have loved keeping up with your fun life. If you ever have any baby or boy questions, call me. There is so much crap you don't need when it comes to your baby registry. I contemplated doing a post on it but thought it would be annoying. Lol

  9. Boys are fun! They love to get dirty and wrestle yet they still come running to you for a hug when they get a boo boo! As much as I would LOVE to be able to buy headbands and adorbes little leggings, shopping for sports jerseys, cargo shorts and matching Toms are just as fun. :) Plus I love that our next babe will have the "older brother" to protect them in high school.

Congrats and I'm excited to follow your journey!
