Back in November Beth invited Bryan and I to an actual southern Debutante Ball. She had me at hello but sweetened the deal by explaining that you get to dress all fancy, dance to a live band and that it's open bar. Open bar, shmopen bar... Lord how I wished I could've have partaken in it with my 7&7 guzzling husband and friend that night! Free whiskey? That's like heaven served on a silver platter to me! But baby boy liked Diet Sierra Mist with a splash of Cran, so this mama-to-be pretended with my mocktails!
I went to the restroom and came back to this bish making her move on my man... I'm not sure if I ever wrote about her Christmas card to us this year, but it went a little something like this " Merry Christmas to my favorite person....... and his wife" If we were into the whole sister wife thing, I'm pretty sure Beth would be wife 2!
Can my son look just like his Daddy? Please. (but with my sparkling personality, of course ;)
Beth's mom and step dad... When "The Wobble" came on she flew out of her chair and literally ran onto the dance floor... Mama can get down to The Wobble. It was amazing!
Having a slow dance moment
At midnight the lights came on and my pornographic ta's and Beth's drunk eyes were a free-for-all!
Remember, it was an open bar!
We were the last people to leave and had plans to meet some of Beth's Debutante crew at a local bar. I was wide awake and all excited for the after party, but once we got into our car Beth just wanted to go back to the hotel and go to sleep. This definitely goes down in the record books that sober/pregnant Kate wanted to stay out while life-of-the-party Beth called it a night. We were out 'til 1:00 am -- go us!
The next day Beth took us on a tour of her hometown of Due West, SC. There's a stop sign... her dad was once mayor.... a restaurant called Sassy Butts... her high school, Dixie High..... and the house she grew up in = Bry and I loved every second of it and can't believe Beth turned out so normal! My my, how we had completely different upbringings from her...
She was really excited to take the above picture, hence the jazz hands *sarcasm*
