happy halloween

This Halloween didn't go quite as planned. Trace was cutting a tooth and he was in excruciating pain. He kept his hands near his mouth, his face was full of red splotches and he just sobbed all day long. We  put on his costume, walked him up to our streets chili cook off and thought that seeing all of the kids running around might distract him. Wrong! He was so sad and just wanted his Mama. I don't remember the last time I held him for that long, haha!! He's always on the move, but not this day. This day Trace just wanted to be crying in Mama's arms. We brought him home to my parents to go to bed at 6:30pm and headed back out into the neighborhood. If there was ever a night that I could have used a drink, it was this one, but yeah... not an option. So I watched Bryan do jello shots with neighbors, we chatted with some friends we hadn't seen in a while and walked our way up to our good friends house to chill with them for a bit. On our walk home we stopped down our street to socialize some more and then headed home when it started to sprinkle. Poor Trace didn't get a chance to trick-or-treat at all, but he did get a good nights sleep, which we're thankful for!

Teething is for the birds....

  1. Nothing like Mama when not feeling good! Poor lil guy - he is usually full of smiles. Love this boy!!!

  2. What a cutie and hope he's feeling better and that tooth that's coming in leaves him alone!

  3. Awwww!!! What a sad recap! :( Poor Trace!!! Wish we could have changed most the things that happened that night! lol! :)

  4. oh bless his little heart! that picture tugs my heart strings- such a sweet little face. cute costume- sorry it didn't get shared much this year!! hah
