flashbacks to childhood

To this day, when I'm sick, all I want is what my mom used to make me when I was a sick kid curled up on the couch with my bedroom pillows, a small trashcan beneath me, Kleenex next to me and barf bin within arms reach. Those were the days..
I've had a horric cold this week and nothing brings me more comfort than Lipton soup in an oversized mug and Saltines with butter.

What did your mom make you every time you were sick as a child?
Do you still insist upon eating it when you get sick now?

  1. My mom always made me chicken noodle soup with Sprite or Ginger Ale to settle my stomach. She always took good care of me...even when I was sick during my pregnancy and she was here visiting us. Hope you get to feeling better real soon. Brayden and I have the same crud...makes you feel a.w.f.u.l.

  4. I loveee that Lipton soup, my mom used to make that for all all the time with grilled cheese. I still make it from time to time when I'm feeling homesick or wanting some comfort food :)

  5. Aw, feel better! Saltines and ginger ale were always our go-to. My mom is really sick right now with a stomach bug and I kept checking in on her yesterday. This is when it's so hard to not live in the same house!

  7. My mom would make me Peanut Butter & Cheese Sandwiches and would rent us the movie Heart and Souls! So random! I love, love, love the Mrs. Grass soup though! Probably eat it once a week. Feel Better!!!

  8. Sorry to hear you are sick. My parents would give me ginger ale (blech) and watermelon (to keep my electrolytes up). I can't say that I eat or drink either now. It just reminds me of being sick.
But what I do remember and love, was no matter the age (even in my twenties and I lived at home for a brief time) they would let me lay in their bed to get well. I can still smell their sheets in my head.
