personalized door hanger & super bowl sunday

You know all of those "house divided" signs that you see in peoples front yards? Well, our house is not divided.

We root for 2 teams -- the Steelers and the Chargers -- me the Steelers and Bry the Chargers, but we support each others teams fully.

About a month ago I ordered this perfectly appropriate personalized door hanger from an etsy shop and it arrived just in time for the Super Bowl.

I just received an e-mail from this etsy shop owner informing me that the shop would be closing due to the owners want to spend more of her free time with her family and less on crafts. Boo hoo!

***

Thanks to the Target dollar bin, we dressed Cali as a referee on Super Bowl Sunday and pretended she was a football.  Clearly we need a life. We're aware.

Then a baby yanked at her paw while she froze and stared nervously

And because they're both freaking adorable...

So sad to see the 2011 football season come to an end, but who am I kidding? I can't wait to see what the Steelers (and Chargers) bring to the table next year!

  7. Cute sign!! We love our own teams in this house. I'm a cowboys fan and Kenny likes the bears, but we totally support each others teams equally. I know Kenny wants both of the boys to be bears fans though. ;-)

  8. I love the door hanger! Sadly, we are a house waaaay divided. I love my hometown Bolts and the Pats and husband loves the Cowboys. We also have to cheer for the Bills b/c a family member works for them! HA!

  12. Love that you two are supportive of each other. Unfortunately, M and I will never be able to be supportive like that (him being a Boston fan and me being a NY fan...). But we still love each other and enjoy watching games together! Happy Thursday!

  17. I am obsessed with that door hanger! My boyfriend and I are somewhat of a "house divided" case. He's a Florida Gator, I'm a Florida State Seminole. Like you said though, we both cheer on each others teams (as long as they're not playing each other) even though they're rivals. I checked out Wendy's page and it turns out that she doesn't live far from the town I grew up in. Too cool!

Cali looked too cute in her Super Bowl outfit! Looks like y'all had fun!

  19. Our house is divided when it comes to Hockey. I'm a Montreal fan, while Stephan cheers for Calgary. But, I maintain that he has no say in hockey since he comes from Germany and is REALLY a soccer fan.

So I tell him that our future children will be Montreal fans, and threaten that if he teaches them to cheer for anyone else, I'll teach them to cheer for Italy or Spain in soccer (who he HATES!!). I know, that's evil of me. But hey, I'm the one who's the psychotic hockey fan so...I win! haha

  20. Hmmm I wondered if Cali would've been a fair referee... Oh well, who cares, she's a cutie pie!!!

That door hanger is GENIUS if I may say so myself! I don't really have a fav football team but the honey is a die hard Buccaneers fan!

    Kate, you're still gorge!
