joplin, mo & tulsa, ok

As I continued to make my way south, I drove through Joplin, MO. I had just filled up my gas take about 50 miles back, so I wasn't really in need, but decided to contribute whatever I could to their economy. I exited off the highway and found my way into Joplin... and to a gas station. I didn't take many pictures, as I didn't want to be disrespectful.

This is what I saw from the road.

Later that same day, I arrived in Tulsa and got myself cleaned up for dinner. My good friend, Cory, is a born and raised Oklahoma boy who now resides with his wife in Tulsa. He picked me up at my hotel and we headed off to my 2nd favorite sushi restaurant in the country, In The Raw. Many orders in and several glasses of wine later, Cory and I were taking trips down memory lane -- back to when we were young, fun, traveling the country together for work and didn't have a care in the world!

There are many perks to my job and this day was an example of that -- not only do I get to see the good and bad of what this country has to offer, but I also get to meet up with friends and family along the way!
